SCS1000 Contractors is an acetoxy silicone sealant that lends itself perfectly to a quick, easy application that will continue to look good for years on end.
Since the sealant boasts primerless adhesion, you can save yourself time and effort by skipping the primer. But don’t worry, you won’t have to compromise quality. The paste still securely bonds and will last for many years without cracking, drying, or separating – even during challenging conditions.
Wind, rain, and snow aren’t an issue for the SCS1000. Elasticity remains during the toughest weather, including extreme heat (up to 350°F) and great cold (up to -45°F). Even UV radiation doesn’t affect how the material works, and it can accommodate around 25% movement in both extension and compression without serious harm. Since the silicone is uncured, it can be gunned and tooled under hot or cold conditions too.
To ease the application further, the paste is non-sag. Whether you want to use it for a horizontal, vertical, or overhead surface, everything will remain in place until it’s fully cured. Luckily, that doesn’t take long either – the adhesive becomes tack-free in just half an hour, and fully cured in 24 to 48 hours. No need to worry about waiting around endlessly before you can move on to the next stage of your project.
Sourced from only the finest products, the SCS1000 is made from 100% silicone: a true mark of quality that guarantees a great finish. It’s also so low in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that it beats industry standards, meaning you won’t have to carry out your work at the detriment of the environment or your health.
Thanks to being a one-component sealant, the SCS1000 is general purpose and doesn’t require mixing. The wide variety of applications include almost any building project under the sun that involves glass, ceramic tiles, porcelain, painted surfaces, plastics, galvanized metal, cultured marble, polished granites, or marbles. Some of the most common uses include:
- Sealing and glazing
- Formed-in-place rubber gasket seal
- Bedding and grouting
- Bathroom fixtures, countertops, air dryers, drains
- Substrates and finishes
We even have a few colors available for you to choose from, so you can choose the perfect shade for your project. There’s translucent, white, black, aluminum (metallic) or bronze – something to suit every purpose.
Plus, you can rest assured the sealant meets all the necessary regulations and more. It meets the requirements of ASTM: C920 and US Federal TT-S-001543A and TT-S-00230C, and is regulated by the USDA and the FDA. It also complies with LEED program requirements for environmental standards.
