MasterProtect® H 400 Sealer is an amazing sealer that can work for both interior and exterior projects. Often used for roads, garages, bridge decks, stadiums, barrier rails, and much more, it offers exceptional protection again water but is also very breathable to allow moisture to escape.

What You Need to Know About Applying MasterProtect® H 400 Sealer

1. Curing of Concrete

The first thing you will need to do before anything is to properly prep the surface of where your will be applying the MasterProtect® H 400 Sealer. Your concrete should have approximately 80% of design strength, which should roughly take anywhere from 14 to 28 days.

2. Cleaning Your Surface

The next step you need to take is to clean and remove all grime, debris, dust, coatings, and anything else off the surface. Our team suggests sandblasting or pressure washing to ensure your surface is clean and ready to go.

3. Avoid Damp Surfaces

Piggybacking off the above step, always try to apply your sealant to a dry surface. If there is minimal dampness, you can apply it, but wait if you see any puddles of water. Ideally, let everything dry completely.

4. The Right Temperature

Now, this step is important, especially after you’ve done all the necessary things to make sure your surface has been properly prepped. The material, air, and surface area must be between 40° to 110° F when applying MasterProtect® H 400 Sealer. It is important to note that you should not apply your sealant if the temperature will be outside of that range within 12 hours of application.

5. Cracks & Patching

If you have any cracks, patchwork, or similar type of work, this can be done after or before you have applied MasterProtect® H 400 Sealer. If you plan on doing any of this work before applying your sealant, wait roughly 12 hours to allow your materials and caulking to properly dry and follow the exact same process and steps when applying.
