DOWSIL Silicone Glazing Sealant is a professional-grade, one-part silicone made specifically for glass shop and general glazing work. It cures into 100% silicone rubber and forms a strong, flexible seal that holds up against sunlight, weather, and temperature changes. Once cured, it stays flexible without becoming brittle, cracking, shrinking, or chalking over time.
This sealant is a good fit for general glazing applications, backlite replacement, skylight installations, weatherstripping and gasket repairs, and other jobs that involve sealing glass and surrounding materials. It bonds to many common substrates, including glass, aluminum, metal, fiberglass, ceramics, repainted surfaces, and many plastics.
DOWSIL Silicone Glazing Sealant is designed to give installers a clean, professional finish while still providing strong long-term performance. It offers ±25% movement capability, helping the seal stay intact as materials expand and contract. It also provides good strength and adhesion while maintaining flexibility through a continuous service temperature range of -40°F to 350°F.
The sealant gives crews a workable application window, with less than 10 minutes of tooling time, a 10–15 minute tack-free time, and about 24 hours for a 1/8-inch bead to fully set up under standard conditions. It can be applied in temperatures from -20°F to 122°F, giving it a wide working range for shop and field glazing work.
DOWSIL Silicone Glazing Sealant meets ASTM C920, Type S, Grade NS, Class 25, along with TT-S-001543A and TT-S-00230C Class A requirements. It is intended for non-structural glazing and should not be used for structural glazing, prolonged water immersion, below-grade applications, or surfaces that will be painted.
