Sikaflex Primer 449 1-Pint

Sikaflex Primer 449 is a high-performance, single-component primer designed to enhance adhesion for Sikaflex sealants on various porous substrates. It is particularly effective on surfaces such as solvent-based enamel, PPG’s fluorocarbon Duranar-finish, and certain plastics like ABS and Plexiglass. This primer is essential for applications where sealants will be exposed to immersion conditions or where substrates require enhanced adhesion.

The primer is ready to use and easily applied by brush, dauber, or spray. It provides excellent coverage, with a single pint covering 300-500 linear feet for ½” x ½” joints, depending on substrate porosity. It is ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications, with a fast drying time of at least 30 minutes and a maximum open time of 8 hours before sealant application.

Sikaflex Primer 449 should only be applied to clean, dry surfaces free of contaminants. It must be stored between 40°F and 95°F (4°C – 35°C) and used immediately once opened to prevent moisture contamination. The product is flammable and should be handled with proper ventilation and protective equipment.

This primer is available in 1-pint cans. It is not designed for use on concrete or cementitious surfaces. Proper safety precautions, including the use of gloves and goggles, should be followed during application to ensure safe handling.
